Lady Gaga Garbage

Lady Gaga
Its Art. Its Junk. (its actually both)

* Notice the poker chips and Kermit parts?...

Artist Jason Mecier uses the personal junk of celebrities and turns it into unique portraits. Over the past 10 years the stars themselves have sent their used belongings to him to create 3D collages.

Including: Heidi Fleiss' moldy slippers, Phyllis Diller's anti-itch
cream, Kathy Najimy's
Dexatrim, Ricki Lake's tampon (ew!), two of Tori Spelling's vibrators (double-ew!), and a letter Paris Hilton
sent him from prison.

Kathy GriffinKathy Griffin (in Clay Aiken CDs & Velveeta wrappers)

Also: Pam Anderson, Bjork, Sharon Stone, Florence Henderson, RuPaul, Pink, the Go-Go’s, the B52's, etc... See more in the video:

93 + 1929 = Sunday Breakfast

mine, hot from oven
Clara, 93, cooks brunch from her Depression-era childhood, to celebrate ThemeThursday.

hint:

- Gruel ?.... 'No'
- Coffee ?... 'Yes'

{video}

"First thing we're going to make is sugar cookies"

('What?'...)

Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't that.

Had to try them, so I made a one-third batch:
1 large egg (lightly beaten)
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
pinch of salt

Rolled out using more flour.
Then cut into turd-like shapes
- and put on ungreased pan.
350' F oven, for ~ 16 min
Verdict: 'Okay' - they did all disappear by 6pm.
(would be better with vanilla +/ spices)

Had to lol, tho. Coffee & two kinds of sugar cookies.
Nutritionist's nightmare, but 'hey' Clara's still here!

warning - The longer you let them sit around however, the more they become Depression-era tooth-breakers.

so, 'Flapper Biscotti', anyone?

p.s.
notice (at 2:57) there's a donut bag on her counter!

Paging Mr. Cameron: We has a plot for Avatar II.

*just enuf time to leave you three quick 'St. Pat' links:

(1) FAMILY FUN
In 2009 a mom put neon prints (pic above) thru her kitchen then surprised her kids w/ green food. Some comments she got, last one's a lol idea:

Ashlee- did this one year at a daycare I worked at. It really freaked out the kids and they cried for a good half hour!

Mercedes- we set our shoes out and They leave us small goodies. Usually green. :) Also our room would have been disorganized by the leprechauns.

Bren Yule- spaghetti noodles with green food coloring! Green alfredo sauce, and Green Choc chip cookies with green sprinkles!

Yarni Gras!- put a green food coloring tablet between the faucet spout and washer ...turned on the kitchen sink, the water came out green.

(2) RECIPE
From the Food Librarian, no less:
click to go - btw, can we add alcohol?
Her recipe? (click pic) Jello blended w/ ice cream.
No idea how it tastes, but it certainly looks... green.

(3) HISTORY:
How snakes left Ireland. (beware: not happily)

Llamas with Hats

`
Because pinafores would just look silly?
bluebison.net
(click pic for hayes roberts*' page, with more
of his fun art & animals, plus stories and books)

*A creative guy with some nice llamas.
But since Theme Thursday for today is 'HATS',

...we'll move on to two llamas,
both of whom have hats, but only one of whom is nice.

And as for the other?...

Well, this other llama is, um, 'not-so nice'.
As you'll see.
But at least he's wearing a hat.

That Green Gentleman

promo cover
*This song (5th track on 'Pretty Odd', by PANIC! AT THE DISCO) is aka 'Things Have Changed'.

I just liked the video (below), but this week's 'Green' theme inspired me to pay a bit more attention to the lyrics:

'That Green Gentleman'

Things are shaping up to be pretty odd.
Little deaths in musical beds.
So it seems I'm someone I've never met.

You will only hear these elegant crimes,
Fall on your ears from criminal dimes.
They spill unfound from a pretty mouth.
Everybody gets there and everybody gets their,
and everybody gets their way.
I never said I missed her when everybody kissed her,
Now I'm the only one to blame.
Things have changed for me, and thats okay.
I feel the same, I'm on my way, and I say.
Things have changed for me, and thats okay.

I want to go where everyone goes,
I want to know what everyone knows,
I want to go where everyone feels the same.

I never said I'd leave the city,
I never said I'd leave this town.
A falling out we won't tiptoe about.

{chorus mash-up}

Things have changed for me.

Good fun - P!ATD's '80's style video:
{3 min}

Has he truly come to terms with how things stand?
...or is he just regretful?
...or resentful - but trying to hide it?

Or is the poor guy still 'green-eyed'?...

Call On His Birthday

~ring~
*Lovely phone-able quotes for

Alexander Graham Bell's birthday

*found during my 'Bell' post. ;-)

'America is a country of inventors, and the greatest of inventors are the newspaper men'... (ha!)

Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.

Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand.
The sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus.
(did he invent indoor tanning? ;-)

Great discoveries and improvements invariably involve the cooperation of many minds.

What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it.

- Plus:
{4 min}

Trivia:

Bell designed & successfully tested the 1st wireless telephone
in 1880, a full 15 years before Marconi’s 'breakthru' in radio.

But nobody's perfect... Hate those airport lines?

Bell's partly to blame; also invented metal detectors.
