Creature Comforts

Freaky finds for the family.

For your infant, the Zombie Devil Duckie:

Qua-Ack !

For bigger kids, A Remote Control Zombie, seen here fighting his arch nemesis, the remote control empty pants:

{39 sec}

For adults that are that kind of 'adult'...

Roxxy the Sex Robot:
"Hey there (pause) Stud"
"Do you like Porsches?" (was that 'porches'?)
"Are you ready to give it to me (pause) Stud?"
"Ah (roboticly) thats nice"
"You have a nice weiner." (and so on....)
{5 min} As for me, I have no words re: this zombie date...

Finally, for the oldsters, a Robot Nurse...
...planned for euthanasia?

{2 min}

At least one of the above seems montrous to me.

So this post is part of ThemeThursdays 'Monster' day.

Why Cannibals Eat Readers

Saw a DVD preview of this...

you can rent it

Yes, that's right. They've released Cannibal! The Musical which is a student film directed back in 1996 by (co-creator of South Park) Trey Parker, while studying at U of CO Boulder.

His black comedy is loosely based on the true story of ex-con (yes, its spelled that way) Alferd Packer who was hired to lead 5 miners across the mountains in winter, yet reappeared weeks later well-fed and loaded with cash (& wallets) saying he'd lost track of them {burp} in the snow...

{30 sec} *Trey Parker also plays Alferd Packer

I have no shame;
I added it to my NetFlix queue.

So,
Why do cannibals prefer eating readers to writers?

A.
Because writers cramp but readers digest.

Kingsize of Pop

Recently released photo of MJ's bedroom.

click for close-up of 'Last Supper'
*click* to see close-up of the painting

Don't know what I expected he'd have over his bed...

MJ's 'apostles': Lincoln, JFK, Edison, Einstein (MJ) Walt Disney, Charlie Chaplin, Elvis, Little Richard. (He commissioned the painting from an artist that did others in his house) Why this eight?

Just can't wrap my head around it; how odd.

{article} Among the videos left piled high in Jackson’s cramped bedroom were documentaries on Bruce Lee and Adolf Hitler, a tv series, American Juniors, (teen talent show) and two self-help parenting videos.
Hopefully he bequeathed that last pair to his relatives.

orig link: more of MJ's house
link: more 'Last Suppers', just to compare

One last thing - who would be your apostles?

Tell Me The Tooth

ouch!...High-tech dentistry... using plasma flares?

from the Economist:
(in a root canal) "... it is common for some of the bacteria to survive it and therefore for infections to re-emerge...

The surviving bacteria are often gathered in the form of what is known as a biofilm. Bacteria in such a film are embedded in a polymer matrix, which makes them harder to kill than isolated individuals. High temps can destroy biofilms, as can chemicals, but neither is safe to use inside... a human tooth. However Chunqi Jiang, a physicist at the USC, and her colleagues have come up with a possible alternative: a dental plasma torch.

...Dr Jiang reckoned that a cold plasma, particularly one rich in oxygen ions (which are notoriously destructive of organic materials), would be enough to do the job of breaking up a biofilm without harming the patient.
(my aside) 'Much'.

I'm praying this isn't the same kind: Here's a youtube video of one cutting a motorcycle outline in less than 30 seconds... out of quarter-inch steel plate.

I like my dentist, but wouldn't trust him with this!

Puts the Ick in Lick

Tired of good taste & nutrition?...

Its 'Jelly Belly' Pudding

*credit for pic from Mr. C's lol Grossery list - check it out.
click HERE for 'Popcorn' + 'Blueberry'
Inspired to research this after seeing it on Mr. C's site...

'Requires no refrigeration'. Hm. How would pudding made with actual milk & eggs look after months on a shelf?

Some brave souls (av club video) actually ate some:

Taste: Jelly Belly puddings ranged from ridiculously sweet to shockingly horrible. Is it any wonder that most of our Taste Testers had to hold their noses while consuming the popcorn pudding?...

...to make things more exciting, we mixed up a “suicide” of all flavors for IES DaveC. -Guess what?- The suicide actually tasted better than any of the individual flavors. And it was beautiful while mixing, though the final product looked poopy.
Isn't there a quote that goes something like:
'If it looks like poo, & tastes like sh!t, its probably...'

Half of a Giraffe

Competitive Taxidermy... who knew?

St. Charles, MO held the Taxidermy World Championship, and among all the deer, fish & birds they had these:

Bambi being fed by a disembodied arm.

Did someone shoot a fawn?

A curiously cheerful shark chasing seals.

How'd they do the water?

But the image that had me say 'why?' was this one,
one half of a giraffe, suspended in midair?

Other half must be upstairs...

It never occured to me that people even hunt them... at 19 feet tall you couldn't brag that it was tough to spot, now could you? Would you put this beast on-tilt in your house?

High Tidy Heels

imagine a beach full of pointy holes

High Tide Heels, by artist Paul Schietekat

''...they combine the elegance of stiletto heels with the swimming speed of flippers."

''They could provide a fashionable alternative for sun-seekers who don't want the hassle of changing footwear every time they cool off with dip in the sea.''
Imagine Posh Spice strolling sprawling along in these.

Alas, according to the Telegraph, there's 'no thought to be any plans to release them commercially'
